Alien Blues - Motion Graphics Animation
A segment for a collaborative motion picture piece depicting scenes from a book series titled Warriors. The song is titled Alien Blues by Vundabar. The final collaborative piece was never published.
The artwork was hand-drawn and then later digitized into Premiere Pro to sync up with the music and then completed in After Effects.
The original concept art for the background. The host requested there be no text, so I removed the text boxes in the final work.
This was the rough animation I compiled to see how all the scenes would look.
Renegades Multi-Editor Part
A segment for a collaborative video piece hosted by evolve330 featuring various fandoms played to the song Renegades by X Ambassadors.
The anime chosen for my portion of the collaboration was BNA (Brand New Animal) and some clip segments were edited in Photoshop for masking purposes.
The final MEP was never published.
Beauty Underneath - Lipsync Animation
A segment for a collaborative animation piece telling a story about deception, betrayal, and cats. The song originates from a play titled: Love Never Dies.
The original draft was hand-drawn and then later digitized when animating.
Sophisticut Sign
Sophisticut is a hair salon company located in Franklin, NC. Their sign was faded and outdated, so the client requested a new design.
The design went through its initial planning period, with a request to unify their artwork but keep the color in black in white. After a few drafts, the client settled for a curvy, non-cursive font with a symbol of hair scissors adjacent to the wording.
Atlanta GA - Centers of Information
Problem: People use graphs and data to understand scale. Imagine A company seeks to find a way to make the data about Atlanta's population, race, and job demographics from the last 3 decades interesting and educational to its core audience.
Solution: Create an Animation using researched data that educates and engages the viewer about Atlanta, Ga's Population, race, and Job Demographics.
Peace of Mind - Food Market
Problem: Imagine a food market wants to open during the pandemic as safely as possible. They want their branding to really stand out while also promoting social distancing.
Solution: Create mock-up imagery that best showcases the company’s unique logo on their clothing and vehicles while sticking to their color palette.
Snakes in the Grass Animation
Problem: The Kituwah Academy of Cherokee, NC is having trouble engaging with their elementary students when they are teaching addition and subtraction in Cherokee.
Solution: Create an animation visually describing subtraction, using snakes, to viewers while the narrator speaks off-screen about the story.
The Letter F
Problem: The letter 'f' can have different meanings depending on the time and place one sees it located. But how many different visual meanings are there for the letter 'f'?
Solution: Create a short motion graphic piece visually highlighting the history and origin of the Letter 'F'. Including some fun facts and visually appealing scenes.
Cosmic Brownies
Problem: The WCU Film students need a title Sequence for their Film titled: Cosmic Brownies. They are looking for the Sequence to have visual elements from the film, a glow effect placed on the opening title, and Credits be included at the end.
Solution: Create an upbeat title sequence for the Film: Cosmic Brownies, playing off the dual meaning of the word 'alien' in the film while also providing the viewer a visual narrative to follow. visual cues taken from 'Stranger Things', 'WALL-E', and 'Steven Universe'. Song choice was based off the music used in the film.
The Great Pumpkin Patch
Problem: Kids love cute stories, but they don't always like to follow them from beginning to end. A website wants to make a click-through Halloween narrative that kids can explore in any order.
Solution: Created a Holiday Children's Story Website with Animated Imagery. The Narrative Story can start and end from any page, save the Home Page, and is non-linear. The Images loop and The buttons are interactive when the cursor hovers over them.
Syfy ID Project
Problem: Syfy studios has two mascots they wish to represent their show when a program isn’t playing.
Solution: Create a 15 second video bumper highlighting the company logo and mascots using stop-motion and sound effects.
Throwback Pack
Problem: While most people experience nostalgia about things from their childhood memories, they can't exactly explain why. They have no accompanying visuals to help express the feeling.
Solution: design a series of nostalgic icons to place onto coasters showcasing themes relevant to the late 90's early 2000s using a unified color pallet.
View-Master Floor Piece
Problem: While most people experience nostalgia about things from their childhood memories, they can't exactly explain why. They have no accompanying visuals to help express the feeling.
Solution: design a 5ft view-master reel showcasing quotes and themes relevant to the late 90's early 2000s.
